May 7, 2012 - PRLog -- On May 7th and 8th 2012 Mr. A M (Tony) Kennedy of Ariel Maritime (UK) Ltd. will be at the SOFEX Exhibition & Conference in Jordan. Tony will be manning the booth and exhibit that Ariel Maritime and Ariel Global Logistics in cooperation with AM Global Logistics Ltd., will have at there.
   
The Special Operations Forces Exhibition & Conference (SOFEX) takes place biennially at the King Abdullah I Airbase in Amman in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. This niche event is held under the Royal Patronage of His Majesty King Abdullah II, the Chairmanship of HRH Prince Feisal Bin Al Hussein and with the full support of the Jordan Armed Forces (JAF).

SOFEX is a four-day event that kicks off with a prominent one day conference that includes a series of comprehensive and topical seminars delivered by top military officials from around the world, tackling a wide range of issues pertinent to current counter terrorism and homeland security issues.

The SOFEX Exhibition surpasses expectations each year in terms of an increase in the number of participants that include Exhibiting Companies, International Pavilions, International Delegates and International Delegations headed by Ministers of Defense, Chiefs of Staff and Special Operations Commanders, as well as numerous impressive deals that are signed at every SOFEX event. The 70,000 m² of indoor and outdoor exhibition space attracts exhibitors and national pavilions from all corners of the globe.

Tony Kennedy and Ariel Global has been very active in providing worldwide Logistics support to various governments and in particular to the U.S Dept. of Defense as well and the UK MoD. Ariel Maritime was for over 20 years the logistics supplier to the UK’s Royal Mail for the majority of their parcel shipments worldwide.

Tony Kennedy and Ariel Global have also been at the forefront of the Piracy issue and also in maritime safety in general. Ariel Maritime is the general agent for TransAfrica Line that has maintained an express cargo service from the UK to Africa for over 30 years. Tony Kennedy from a branch of the Kennedy Family had hopes to work with the late Senator Ted Kennedy in the United States to bring more awareness to the piracy issue but due to Senator Ted Kennedy’s untimely passing these plans were changed and Tony has been pleased to work with the UK’s All Party Parliamentary Group and is also please to support Eric Joyce MP the UK Member of Parliament for Falkirk in his efforts on Maritime Safety.
