May 6, 2012 - PRLog -- Crohn’s and Colitis Diseases are no laughing matter, but this June the Frisco Community will be laughing in their seats to raise money for the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation of America (CCFA North Texas). In partnership for the funny-raiser with Frisco PR Girl, The Other Guys of Comedy will take the stage on Saturday, June 9, 2012, 8:00 PM at The Vault at the School of Rock, 6891 Main Street.  “We are excited to bring nightlife to downtown Frisco,” says comedian Jeff Stachowski.

The Other Guys of Comedy (http://www.theotherguysofcomedy.com) - Tyson Faifer, Jeff Stachowski, and CJ Starr - are three hard working, up and coming comics in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area who decided to combine forces to make the world a funnier place.  It’s kind of like if Batman, Superman and Spiderman decided to get together to fight crime…with laughter.  Well, not exactly like that because The Other Guys Of Comedy don’t wear silly costumes or have secret identities and would rather make people laugh than chase bad guys or swing from tall buildings from a rope, but you get the idea.  At a combined height of 17 feet and 11 inches, they bring a high energy, upbeat, professional show to any venue large or small and in general are all around nice guys.

The Other Guys of Comedy’s universal appeal makes them a must-see act.  Their stage personalities complement each other to engage the audience in a high quality performance.  Tyson Faifer is the good-looking guy with a “gets all the dates” personality who incorporates hip-hop, pop-culture and dating into his material. CJ Starr’s good natured, family-life humor, inspired by marriage, older stepchildren and his crazy upbringing are presented in a best-friend conversational style that balances Jeff Stachowski’s happily-divorced seasoned-dater persona that seems to only attract dysfunction, leaving behind a trail of absurd but relatable stories.  Frisco is about to learn what funny really is with The Other Guys Of Comedy.

The funny-raiser’s special guest is Dean Lewis, a finalist for Funniest Comic in Texas Competition (2011).  A seasoned veteran of the comedy circuit, Lewis will be a definite crowd pleaser.  He has appeared on the Last Comic Standing (Season 5), the Ellen DeGeneres Show, and was the winner of the Wendy’s Clean Comedy Challenge.  Mr. Lewis has won an Emmy for writing on the comedy show DFW 10, has sold material to Jay Leno and has opened for many entertainers; the likes of Julio Iglesias, The Doobie Brothers, Joan Jett and Willie Nelson.

The evening will be hosted by Ryan Perrio who was a finalist in the Funniest Comic in Texas Competition (2010).Perrio appears regularly at Hyena’s, The Improv, and Backdoor Comedy Club.

Also appearing is Frisco's own up-and-coming comedian, Jason Young, who should draw a big local crowd.

TOGO Comedy’s business ambition is to bring comedic nightlife to suburban North Dallas in addition to their regular downtown shows. The idea sprouted upon realizing how far their following travels for laughs.  Choosing Frisco was easy, knowing several single or young couples need entertainment closer to home – babysitting rates are no laughing matter either.

While meeting with Frisco PR Girls’ Lynn Bergman for help with efforts to bring comedy to the suburbs, the idea to hold a funny-raiser for CCFA North Texas was a natural one.  Bergman’s son was recently diagnosed with a severe form of colitis - she spent days scouring the internet for information learning about CCFA’s mission to improve the quality of life of children and adults affected by these diseases without cures.  Intestinal issues are no laughing matter for anyone suffering and raising funds to help is serious. For the show, advance “early bird” tickets are $15 through May 15th before general admission opens at $20 per advance ticket, and will be $25 at the door.  An advance VIP- ticket for $35 includes preferred seating, green room access, and an autographed poster.  Cash bar and food are available.  Purchase tickets in advance for the show, donations for the CCFA can be made during the event.  For more information about the event, contact Frisco PR Girl Public Relations, 703-909-1780.  The Other Guys of Comedy are available for corporate events, private parties and bookings.  (order tickets at: http://tinyurl.com/comedyvault)

About Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation (http://ccfa.org/chapters/ntexas)
The Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America is a non-profit, volunteer-driven organization dedicated to finding the cure for Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis. It was founded in 1967 by Irwin M. and Suzanne Rosenthal, William D. and Shelby Modell, and Henry D. Janowitz, M.D.

Four decades ago, the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation created the field of Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis research. Today, the Foundation funds cutting-edge studies at major medical institutions, nurtures investigators at the early stages of their careers, and finances underdeveloped areas of research. Educational workshops and symposia, together with our scientific journal, Inflammatory Bowel Diseases, enable medical professionals to keep pace with this rapidly growing field.
