May 4, 2012 - PRLog -- Chef Stewart will be responsible for overseeing food and beverage operations of the hotel, including its bar and restaurant, as well as, its 5,500 square feet of catering and meeting space. “His creativity, expertise and experience will help us elevate our guests’ dining experiences and his shared vision for sustainable operations is the perfect fit for the Wyndham Philadelphia-Mount Laurel” says Rishi Shah, General Manager of the Wyndham Philadelphia-Mount Laurel.

Chef Stewart’s passion for cuisine came after working as a long shoreman in Philadelphia, PA for 15 years.  After graduating from high school, Stewart worked as a long shoreman until the company relocated to Baltimore, MD.  This opened the door for Stewart to pursue his interest in the culinary arts, at which time he enrolled in the Restaurant School of Philadelphia.  After graduating, he refined his skills and furthered his training by serving a one year apprenticeship at La Capagna in Cherry Hill, NJ, where he continued on and quickly progressed through the various levels of the culinary arts for six years.  Ready to run his own kitchen, Stewart went on to serve as Executive Chef at GG’s Restaurant in Mount Laurel, NJ for the past 16 years. During these years, Stewart was awarded the “Wish Dish of the Year” award five times, from the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Stewart comes to the Wyndham Philadelphia-Mount Laurel with a shared vision for sustainable cuisine.   “The Wyndham Philadelphia-Mount Laurel is a Green Key certified hotel and is the perfect place for me to implement my vision of providing delicious conscious cuisine.” says Stewart. Stewart purchases as many ingredients as possible from local suppliers, because he believes that “Consumers should know where their food is coming from and the people that are producing it.”  Stewart’s philosophy is that “cuisine should be simple, using only fresh ingredients, so you can let the freshness of the ingredients speak for themselves.”

The Wyndham Philadelphia-Mount Laurel is a well established 243 room hotel that has been serving every kind of traveler for the past twelve years and providing the ideal venue for corporate meetings to wedding receptions.  The Wyndham Philadelphia-Mount Laurel’s most recent claim to fame is their dedication to sustainable operations and being Green.  The hotel was just recently awarded a 3-Key rating from the Green Key Eco-Rating Program.
