Follow on Google News | Can Mining and Agriculture Co-Exist?It is time for the mining and agriculture industries to put their history of conflict behind them, for the sake of Australia’s economy.
By: Marketing Angels Ben White, chief executive officer of New Rural Industries Australia (NRIA) said mining, energy and agriculture sectors need to collaborate and jointly develop regional resources across Australia in order to increase profit. “Mining and Agriculture are the two industry sectors that have built (and continue to build) the economic strength of Australia,” White said. “It makes sense that they collaborate where they intersect. They can only benefit each other and Australia's future.” Ahead of his keynote speech at the upcoming Resources and Energy Symposium, White believes while the sectors are often portrayed as adversaries, many in the mining and agricultural industries want – and do- work together for the greater good of both industries. “The co-habitation of the mining and agriculture sectors is already happening in many parts of Australia,” he said. “It is important to continue this trend, building bridges to profitable opportunity and not creating roadblocks. “Agriculture such as kangaroos, camels, wild flowers and native foods are often found in key mining and energy areas. They also offer significant collaboration and investment potential for mining and energy investment to enhance their corporate profile and social licence to operate in regional Australia. “With their combined knowledge and skills, these two industries have the opportunity to work together for the greater benefit of all Australians.” -End - For more information - or to register - please contact: Symposium Level 9 66 King Street Sydney, NSW, 2000 + (61) 2 92994350 info@symposium.net.au www.symposium.net.au For Media interview requests please contact: Kirrily Ciscato 0414 303 695 kirrilyciscato@ End
