Garreson Publishing Releases Audio Lecture By Elizabeth Capaldi Evans

Garreson Publishing has released the audio of a presentation by Elizabeth Capaldi Evans, an Associate Professor of Biology and Animal Behavior at Bucknell University.

May 3, 2012 - PRLog -- Dr. Evans’ talk, “Learning about Bee Learning,” will review bees as model animals for understanding general principles of learning and why this information is essential for beekeepers, as well as recent research about how environmental factors (global change, pesticides, and diseases) influence bee behavior and the future of beekeeping.

Dr. Evan's research interests include studies of the insect brain, of honeybee biology including harmonic radar, and native bee distributions in PA. Her latest book is Why Do Bees Buzz? Fascinating Answers to Questions About Bees.

Garreson Publishing provides bee hive plans, furniture plans, lumber, and honey. Garreson Publishing's beekeeping podcast is available on iTunes, and has previously featured Tom Seeley and Randy Oliver. Tom Seeley located the wild honey bee colonies living in Cornell University’s Arnot Forest in 1978, before the introduction of varroa mites, and again in 2002, well after the mites were established in North America.
