Follow on Google News | Hillsboro, Ore. author publishes new Ebook - Broken Sigil, available now at Amazon and SmashwordsWritten over the course of four years, “Broken Sigil” centers around an ordinary courier named Jalen Winstone. When he is sent on a delivery in a distant city, he becomes embroiled in the beginnings of a full-scale war, in addition to finding out that his family faces grave danger if he cannot finish his mission. Faced with betrayal on all sides as well as from within, Jalen discovers just how much he’s willing to sacrifice for his family, even if it means sacrificing his life. “I’m just excited to finally get this out there and done. I’m hoping it’s the start of something big. In the end, I just want people to enjoy my stories,” said Vilante of his book. A graduate of Century High School’s class of ’99, Vilante has had no formal training in writing, instead, opting to learn everything about producing a novel from writer’s groups, books, and experimentation. “The first draft was handwritten, and absolutely horrid,” said Vilante. “When you compare the first draft to what’s in the book now, it’s barely recognizable.” Initially published on May 21st, 2012, the book has had over one hundred and seventy downloads due to it’s free-price promotion on Smashwords. The book typically retails for $2.49. It has already received a five-star review from a user on goodreads.com., who called it “a great story” and is anticipating the sequel, which Vilante has stated is already in the works.
