Follow on Google News | Car Recalls Updates: Who is Recalling Now?Car recalls are a part of the industry with many variables involved. So who is on the hot seat now?
By: Porta Press The following includes brief descriptions of current recalls of various makes and models: Ford Motor Corp Ford takes the top spot with 140,310 Ford Focus 2012 models. It seems a seal in the wiring harness connector to the passenger side wiper motor may be completely missing from the vehicle. Without the connector, the passenger-side wiper motor may not work when water or other contaminants fall on the windshield, which could result in loss of visibility and possibly a crash. BMW BMW is also included in the car recalls list with 2,846 affected. It seems that certain vehicles that are equipped with an 8 or 12 cylinder, turbocharged engine are having trouble with a part of the circuit board overheating. The electric auxiliary water pump can over heat, and if it does, the heat could lead to smoldering of the pump. This places an engine compartment and other parts susceptible to fire if the soldering gets hot enough. Chrysler Group Chrysler has one of the smaller recalls of the month with 1,689 Jeep Compass and Patriot 2012 models. Some models seemed to maybe have been built with a damaged roll-over valve within the fuel tank assembly. This can cause a fuel leak to occur in the event of an impact or roll-over, which could result in a fire. General Motors Finally, General Motors is recalling 2011-2012 Buick Enclave, Chevrolet Traverse, GMC Acadia model, totaling 50,001 vehicles. The issue had to do with snow or ice buildup on the windshield or on the wipers that may cause the movement of the wiper to be restricted. This restriction can cause the arm to loosen or even make the arm inoperative. GM wants to ensure that these vehicles do not incur loss of visibility for the driver.
