Landlord Training Offers Tips for Success in Rental Housing Business

UMSL’s Landlord Training Program offers tools for first-time investors as well as seasoned property owners

May 3, 2012 - PRLog -- ST. LOUIS – The Landlord Training Program for new and experienced landlords provides useful, practical information on how to succeed in the rental housing business. This short, six-hour program offered by the University of Missouri–St. Louis Center for Entrepreneurship and Economic Education, St. Louis County Neighborhood Preservation, and the St. Louis Real Estate Investors Association, will be held 6:00–9:00 p.m., Thursdays, May 17 and 24, at the World Trade Center Building, 121 S. Meramec, Room 1013, Clayton, Mo.

Topics include determining if a property is a good rental investment, finding and selecting quality tenants, writing proper leases, legal issues, marketing, codes and regulations, maintenance, budgets, business plans, and record-keeping.
