British Minigolfers in the latest World Minigolf Sport Federation Ranking Lists

The World Governing Body for Minigolf Sport has published the latest World Minigolf Ranking Lists

PRLog (Press Release) - May 3, 2012 - Eighteen British Minigolf Association Tour players are currently listed in the latest World Minigolf Sport Federation Rankings Lists.

The recently released editions of the WMF Rankings have been updated for General, Senior and Junior Class Players along with ranking lists for WMF member Nations.


WMF General Class Rankings
Great Britain is ranked 20th of 31 Nations.

353 players are listed in the General Class (Adults) Men’s category. Michael Smith is the top ranked GB player in 124th place of 345 positions with 565 ranking points.

Other players listed are:
-   Marc Chapman at 139th
-   James Rutherford at 256th
-   Sean Homer at tied 262nd
-   James Trubridge at 340th
-   Richard Gottfried at tied 345th
-   Scott Lancley at tied 345th
-   Brad Shepherd at tied 345th

115 players are listed in the General Class (Adults) Women’s category and GB’s Emily Gottfried is ranked in tied 101st of 101 positions with one ranking point.

Germany, Sweden and Austria top the rankings for General Class Nations.


WMF Senior Class Rankings
Great Britain is ranked 18th of 26 Nations.

380 players are listed in the Senior Class Men’s category. Tony Kelly is the top ranked GB player in tied 213th place of 301 positions with 240 ranking points.

Other players listed are:
-   Nick Chitty at 243rd
-   Alan Norman at 266th
-   Chris Harding at 278th
-   David Donnelly at tied 301st
-   Christopher Smith at tied 301st
-   Chris Jones at tied 301st

114 players are listed in the Senior Class Women’s category and GB’s Marion Homer is ranked in tied 76th of 76 positions with one ranking point.

Germany, Austria and Italy top the rankings for Senior Class Nations.


WMF Junior Class Rankings
Great Britain is ranked 15th of 26 Nations.

154 players are listed in the Junior Boys category and Adam Kelly is ranked 59th of 142 positions with 464 ranking points.

Germany, Austria and Sweden top the rankings for Junior Class Nations.


Players from the BMGA and the Great Britain Minigolf team will be competing in WMF and EMF competitions in 2012. The second annual WMF World Adventure Golf Masters tournament will be taking place on the 18th and 19th of May and will once again be hosted by Hastings Adventure Golf. Players will also be competing at the Nations Cup and European Minigolf Championships in Porto, Portugal.

The World Minigolf Sport Federation (WMF) is the umbrella organisation of minigolf sports association's worldwide and continental associations in Asia, Europe and America. The WMF is a member of the SportAccord, the General Association of International Sports Federations. The WMF organises biannual world championships for youth and elite players, as well as biannual Continental Championships in Europe, Asia and the USA.

The British Minigolf Association (BMGA) is the governing body for Minigolf Sport, including Crazy Golf and Adventure Golf. Formed in 1998 the BMGA organises Minigolf tournaments for its members across the UK.

40 BMGA Tour Players have made a total of 94 appearances representing Great Britain in World and European Championships (both Youth and Adult), Nations Cup competitions, the Asian Open Championships, the World Adventure Golf Masters and the Czech Open since 1999. Peter Parr was the first Great Britain International and made his debut in a WMF Minigolf Tournament at the 1999 World Minigolf Championships, in Papendal, The Netherlands.
