Testing of StikNPeel™ Rework Stencil Leaves no Residue

May 3, 2012 - PRLog -- Rolling Meadows, IL — Foresite Labs (http://www.residues.com) , a provider of analytical testing services, has recently confirmed via a cleanliness investigation that BEST Inc’s StikNPeel™ leaves no harmful or detrimental residues behind when used on a PCB. Foresite engaged in this project for BEST Inc. characterizing the surface using ion chromatography per IPC-TM-650, method 2.3.28.

Test vehicles were reworked using a SAC305 no-clean solder using the StikNPeel™ stencils. The test vehicles then had specific device locations removed and the test samples then had a sample solution extracted from the removed location. Ion chromatography testing then measured the residual chloride, bromide, sulfates and weak organic acid levels all were below industry recommended minimum levels for high reliability assemblies.
