Larry Holmes Charitable Foundation To Host Run With The Champ 5k Race/walk

Since its inception in 1978, Run with the Champ has helped keep the community active and healthy while raising funds for the youth. Returning now in 2012, the Larry Holmes Charitable Foundation is on a mission to continue that legacy.

May 2, 2012 - PRLog -- EASTON, PA – The Larry Holmes Charitable Foundation (LHCF) announced today that they will host the Run with the Champ 5k Race/Walk at Scott Park in Easton, PA on June 16, 2012.

The first Run with the Champ began in 1978 featuring Heavyweight Boxing Champion Larry Holmes. The Race is open to both adults and children of all ages. Registration begins at 8:30a.m. and the race will begin at 10:00a.m. followed by the walk and fun run. Registration for the event is now open on the LHCF events page.

“We are excited to bring this race back to Easton,” said Larry Holmes Jr., Executive Director of the Larry Holmes Charitable Foundation. “The race will help us spread our mission to the community while keeping the Lehigh Valley Fit.”

Easton native Cpl. Dan Lasko will be honored as well as participating in the Run with the
Champ. Lasko fought in Afghanistan in 2004 and received a purple heart. He is a prime
example of local heroes giving back.

“The Larry Holmes Charitable Foundation is proud to honor Cpl. Dan Lasko for his hard work and dedication,” said Holmes, Jr. “Dan is a real hero from our community and we are thrilled to have him participating in the race.”
