Peepsock Press Announces New Product Line Offshoot of Tangram Fury

Peepsock Press, LLC, has created a new product line that builds on the success of Tangram Fury and makes it available at souvenir shops and tradeshow events.

May 2, 2012 - PRLog -- CEDAR HILLS – May 2, 2012 Today online, the NuFun games division of Peepsock Press, LLC announced the creation of a new product line of games based off of the successful game “Tangram Fury” which NuFun Games launched last fall.  This new product line is a series dubbed “Tangram Fury: Souvenir Packs.”

With the creation of the Souvenir Packs, NuFun Games is broadening its appeal into a niche market, specifically those that sell low-cost items to people on the go.  In particular, this will target gift shops at various locations, and even tradeshow presenters.

The Souvenir Packs will consist of a smaller rendition of what is available in the Tangram Fury game.  “It really could be called a ‘travel pack’ because it makes for a good toy to play with in the car,” Doug Nufer, inventor of Tangram Fury and President of Peepsock Press, explained.  “We didn’t want to call it a travel pack, though, because that doesn’t quite cover what’s in it.  It includes a unique souvenir card that reflects the main theme of a given site where the pack may be sold.  If it were a ‘travel pack’ then there would be no point in including the souvenir card.  These cards can be added to their Tangram Fury decks.”

Each pack contains one souvenir card, one 7-piece foam tangram puzzle of the same type and quality found in the Tangram Fury game, and an information sheet that contains information about tangrams and the site on one side and several puzzles on the other.  Most of the puzzles are in the “Fan” mode meaning that they list how to solve the puzzles.  The last several puzzles are depicted in “Expert” mode meaning that they only depict the silhouette of the various shapes.

Solutions to the Expert puzzles are displayed on the “Tangram Image Library” of the Tangram Fury website.  Each pack contains the URL for accessing the library as well as a QR Code that will automatically link to it when scanned by a smart device.

“The hope with these packs,” Nufer explained, “Is that kids and adults alike will find them compelling.  Once you start tangramming, it becomes irresistible.  The images in these packs will help jumpstart people’s imagination.  Hopefully, they’ll take the puzzles well beyond the limits of what is displayed and start to create images of their own.  Don't tell the kids, but they actually exercise their brains while they play with tangrams.  They just think they're having fun, but they're also learning spatial reasoning and such.”

The first release of the Souvenir Packs includes 11 themes: Christmas, Sports, Animals, Aquariums, Hawaii, Hawaiian Ocean Life, Letters, Numbers, Tradeshows, Utah, and even Michigan’s Upper Peninsula or UP.  Several of the packs are directed towards use in schools, and free handouts are also being created.  Most of the images used in these packs were designed specifically for the packs and cannot be found elsewhere.

“The Tradeshow Pack has great potential,” Nufer said.  “I spent over half a decade in the marketing division of a major software company and am very familiar with how many companies are on the lookout for new, unique, fun, inexpensive yet durable giveaways for tradeshows.  The Tradeshow Pack is really just a demo or prototype to be offered to companies who are looking for great tradeshow giveaways.  The images used and the content included in the packs are totally customizable.  These puzzles really are a lot of fun to work with, and geeks like me love them.  I wouldn’t be surprised if giving out tangram puzzles at tradeshows becomes as commonplace as mousepads once were.”

The tangram library contains thumbnails of each pack that is currently in production and is found at http://www.tangramfury.com/tangram-library.php  Clicking on a thumbnail will link to a page specific to that pack that contains more information on the pack and how to order it.  More packs are also in the works.

“If there’s anything I’ve learned about tangrams,” Nufer observed, “it’s that there’s always something more to discover about them.  I’m sure there will be more fun discoveries in the near future.”

Peepsock Press, LLC. was founded in 2003 as an assisted-publication service provider.  Peepsock Press' goal is to assist new authors with getting their works into publication.  Peepsock Press believes that many new authors are denied the opportunity to share their great works with the world merely because they have not yet been able to make a name for themselves.  By assisting authors in finding printing houses and distributors, Peepsock Press is pleased to aid in fulfilling the goals and dreams of those authors.  With the creation of NuFun Games, Peepsock Press seeks to provide family-friendly and competitive games to a broad market.
