May 1, 2012 - PRLog -- Ontech Associated Group, in partnership with Absolute Technology Law Group and Plymouth Foam, have developed and patented a design that will revolutionize the application and use of the Home Draft System developed by MillerCoors LLC of Chicago, Illinois.

Small party kegs, holding a gallon of beer or more for ready consumption, have been around for years. Unfortunately, party kegs are often awkward to use and store. Party kegs and gallon draught cans are also not designed for long term storage and are single use. They are best used for parties, special events, or a get together where consumers are less likely to have left over beer taking up precious room in the refrigerator as the beer goes flat. MillerCoors has found the answer with its 5.7 liter Home Draft System. This package is offered in either Miller Lite or Coors Light.

The Home Draft System is simple to set-up and user friendly. The instructions for getting the Home Draft up and running to start tapping out the beer are easy to understand. The instructions for its use are printed on the box it is packaged in: simply remove the safety tab, twist to open the CO2 cartridge, flip back the lock tab, and pour a beer using a conventional plastic-handled tapping mechanism. Once it's opened and set up, the MillerCoors Home Draft System is designed to be stored flat and dispensed straight out of the refrigerator. The beer will also stay fresh and bubbly for up to thirty days.

In 2009, the Miller Lite and Coors Light Home Draft Systems were initially tested in diverse markets in the United States: Dallas, Texas; San Diego, California; Jacksonville, Florida; Phoenix, Arizona; Denver, Colorado and Columbus, Ohio. (The package is currently widely placed in all the major retailers, grocery, and liquor stores throughout the United States.)

There has been a lack of strong consumer response for the Home Draft System. Through market research Ontech Group has done over the last 2 years, they have discovered that there is an issue reaching consumers with this package due to the fact that many are seeking the same portability in the MillerCoors Home Draft System when a refrigerator is unavailable (i.e. outdoor activities, cook-outs, tailgating, camping, boating, etc.) as they have with cans or bottles. Therefore, Ontech Group developed a durable, thick-walled, econimical styrofoam cooler for consumers that desire portability along side of the Home Draft's "drinkability".

Ontech states that they have found that conventional chest cooler designs cannot be effectively utilized for the Home Draft, as with cans or bottles. To tap the Home Draft when using a chest cooler, the Home Draft must be completely removed from a chest cooler to dispense the product due to the fact that the Home Draft must lay flat to dispense. Having to repetitively remove and replace the Home Draft in a chest cooler is unwieldy. This has proven to be a deterrent to consumers who desire tap beer taste for their outdoor activities without the hassle and expense of purchasing a keg type package such as quarter-barrel or half-barrel. The cooler package that Ontech offers directly addresses these issues and resolves the quest consumers have expressed for portability of the Home Draft System. They have acomplished this in a package that is attractive, affordable, unique, durable, and creates direct recognition for the brand. This cooler also works with the Sturman Tap-A-Draft System many home beer brewers utilize. See http://www.sturmanbg.com/home or go to www.homedraftcooler.com.
