Akadema Endorser Bryce Harper Makes Major League Debut

PRLog (Press Release) - May 1, 2012 - Hawthorne, NJ – May 1, 2012 – Washington Nationals outfielder and Akadema endorser Bryce Harper, made his Major League Debut on April 28, 2012.  Harper, a five-tool player, became the youngest player in the Majors when he made his debut with the Nationals.  Harper’s first hit was a double that came off of Dodgers’ pitcher Chad Billingsley.  In his debut, he went 1 for 3 with a double, a tie-breaking sacrifice fly, and nearly threw out a runner at home plate from left field.  In his second game on April 29th, he went 1 for 3 with a walk and a strikeout.  Harper also started in center field sporting his Akadema AMR34, making a tremendous catch at the wall in right-center field.  Through two games Harper’s average is .333 with two hits and one RBI.  In 2010, Akadema signed the phenom to a long-term glove contract, in the same year he was selected as the first overall pick in the MLB draft.

National’s manager Davey Johnson didn’t seem to think Harper was nervous in his debut.  Johnson stated, “He seemed very relaxed. Basically, I told him: `Glad to have you. Just relax and have fun.’”  Harper didn’t seem to be nervous at all.  "I really didn't have butterflies at all. I think that's one of the first times I've never gotten butterflies," Harper said.  Harper hopes to continue his solid play and avoid a trip back to the minor leagues when other Nationals’ players return from injuries.
