Festivities will take place at the Ebony Repertoire Theatre (formerly Nate Holden Performing Arts Center) located at 4718 West Washington Blvd. Los Angeles, CA 90016. Beginning at 7pm, Filmmaker Danielle L. Ross (“Back Then”, “Pull”) will kick off her 6-week course offering for Independent Filmmakers with “The Secrets to Indie Filmmaking” workshop-- A candid look behind the camera guaranteed to reveal the powerful tips that the industry elite don’t want you to know. Ross will share everything from financing and distribution tips to production shortcuts on a dime. She will also be on hand to make a special announcement about her latest film “Back Then” and introduce Indie Lounge premiere sponsor, “FootageBank HD”, the #1 resource for HD Video Clips.
At 8:00pm a variety talent showcase will give artists a chance to perform in front of a select panel of industry heavyweights who want to help them take their careers to the next level. The winner of the competition will win prizes which include: Free admission to Michelle Adams Casting Insider Actor’s Boot Camp, A PR Starter Kit courtesy of Divine Brown Media Group and “Premier Level” access into the “Independent Hollywood Partner Network”.
This month’s featured art installation entitled “STAINED” will be presented by Jamile Hamilton of Ocular Fine Art. The talented Photographer, Animator and Sketch Artist will present the series; which immortalizes entertainment icons like Jazz musicians Miles Davis and Etta James, Comedian Bernie Mac, Pop-Soul artist Amy Whinehouse, and Soul Train Founder, Don Cornelius. Hamilton will also award a FREE sketch to a lucky raffle winner who donates to “The Next…” scholarship program, a fund that supports students who wish to pursue careers in entertainment.
Light hors d'oeuvres and cocktails will be served and guests will also be treated to delectable sweets catered by “Tenita’s Candy Bar”. The soundtrack for the evening will be provided by DJ. Goonie. In addition, new R&B sensation “Miss Jay” will be on hand to perform tracks from her latest mixtape “Vanity”.
Chris Black, owner of Black Pearl Media Group, “MY E-TV Network” and “The Chris Black Show”, will be on the air live to interview talent and bring up to the minute radio coverage of the event. The Indie Lounge will also broadcast Live on U-Stream.
