Body Art Training Group Represented at Safe Body Art Act (AB 300) Implementation Meeting

PRLog (Press Release) - May 1, 2012 - Kathy Hartman, an instructor at the Body Art Training Group, attended the Safe Body Art Act Implementation Meeting on April 27, 2012 at the offices of the California State Association of Counties in Sacramento, CA.

The purpose of the meeting was to facilitate the implementation of the Safe Body Art Act (AB 300). In attendance were a number of county health department officials and representatives from the body art industry.

At the meeting several suggestions were made for legislative modifications to the Safe Body Art Act. There were also a number of requests for legislative guidance and clarification.

An advisory committee, comprised of both health regulators and body art industry stakeholders, was established to provide on-going support for AB 300 implementation.

The Safe Body Art Act was signed into law by Gov. Jerry Brown on October 9, 2011 and became effective on January 1, 2012. Body art practitioners and body art facilities, however, have until July 1, 2012 to be in compliance.
