“I chose the evolution of a pearl because it is analogous to a young girl’s path to adulthood,” shares creator Regina Kirshbaum. “The pearl is a fragile grain of sand at the outset and yet over time it evolves, layer upon layer, into a beautiful, lustrous object of strength and value. Our “Pearl Girl” represents the embodiment of that growing, self-assured young woman. She may be envisioned as a superhero with whom everyone may relate.
With this sentiment in mind, Agabhumi has chosen to donate a portion of all Pearl Girl sales to the Mayor’s Youth Leadership Council (MYLC). The youth activism organization focuses on anti-bullying and enriching the lives of young people in the City of Stamford,CT.
According to Bob Kocienda of MYLC, “we were excited to partner up with Agabhumi on this collection.”
The collection will be available in all Agabhumi stores and online at www.agabhumi.com. [$28.00-$98.00]
About Agabhumi
Agabhumi the Best of Bali opened its flagship store in 2002 in Stamford, CT. Owners Michael and Regina Kirshbaum have traveled to Bali in Indonesia for 10 years to source and create product for their stores. Together they bring over 50 years of retail experience to this venture. The duo created the name "Agabhumi" (which translates as "ancient firmament") to represent the strong, grounded and creative nature of the artisans with whom they work. The unique jewelry, handbags, apparel, shoes and gifts that are chosen in their travels throughout the island, highlight the breadth of the collective talents of the Balinese designers. These artists, working with the Agabhumi team in interpreting trends and forecasts, keep Agabhumi at the forefront of the fashion curve.
Agabhumi currently has four brick and mortar store locations in Connecticut, Barbados and California. In addition, there is a successful online store and presence at www.agabhumi.com
