PRLog - May 1, 2012 - LIVERPOOL, U.K. -- It’s Liverpool’s best kept secret but as it approaches its first anniversary city-based Orion Party Architects is becoming the first port of call for clients who want to transform an event into an occasion.
Charlotte and Karl
Founded by TV professionals Karl Dolan and Charlotte Winby, who between them have directed and produced hit shows including Hollyoaks, Grange Hill and This Morning, Orion has already been approached by businesses who want to create events tied into both the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee and the Olympics.
“Although we’ve only been operating for 12 months we’ve already gained a reputation for understanding the mechanics of magic,” said Karl speaking from the company’s Mount Street HQ.
“When Charlotte and I formed Orion we decided to give it a year to see how it took off. Well now we’re coming to the end of our first year and are really happy with the response that we've had up to now. So it looks like we're in Liverpool to stay.”
Charlotte added:”The projects we have worked on together seem to have underlined our USP. Our backgrounds in theatre and TV have given us a range of production skills that are rare in the event management world. Clients now recognise that we can produce stunning events that are truly memorable.”
Unusual projects that Karl and Charlotte have been involved in include the staging of an ice-skating spectacular on the frozen surface of a Cheshire lake – in the middle of summer; the transformation of a building site into a banqueting hall for 500 guests and the creation of a pop-up nightclub experience based on the Seven Deadly Sins on the Albert Dock.
“We had to use the latest technology to achieve the frozen lake effect but it was intended to be the high point of a celebrity client’s party,” explained Karl.
Although Orion are often approached to advise and create events for some very well known names within the showbusiness world, their client list always remains confidential.
“The skill set that Charlotte and I share is unique in the world of creative hospitality and has enabled us to position Orion as the spectacularly original and highly experienced new kid on the block,” added Karl, who lives on the Wirral. “After a year we’re no longer the new kid but we are just as spectacular and original.”
