Anders Broman is recognized by the National High School Coaches Association and GTM® Sportswear for strong athletic and academic performance as the March 2012 GTM® Sportswear Athlete of the Month.

May 1, 2012 - PRLog -- GTM® Sportswear and the National High School Coaches Association (NHSCA) are pleased to announce junior basketball player Anders Broman as the GTM® Sportswear Athlete of the Month for March 2012.  Broman will be recognized at a press conference at Lakeview Christian Academy, Duluth, Minn. on May 2, 2012 at 2:55 p.m. for his strong athletic and academic performance. Local media outlets are invited to attend.

Broman currently leads the nation in points scored per game at the high school level.  His basketball team at Lakeview Christian Academy recently competed in the Minnesota State Basketball Tournament for 2012. Among other awards, he has been named to the National Honor’s Society, the All Area First Team for 2011, and was awarded an All State Honorable Mention for 2011. Broman scored 71 points in a single game, the second highest number of points scored in one game in Minnesota history. Broman continues to grow into a superior athlete and remains an honor roll student at Lakeview Christian Academy. He attributes his positive attitude and athletic success to encouragement from his father, and his academic success to the continued support of his mother.

“The National High School Coaches Association is proud to recognize this young man for his outstanding performances, not only on the court, but in the school and community as well,” said Bobby Ferraro, Jr., Executive Director of the National High School Coaches Association.  “It’s truly an honor to recognize an athlete of this stature.”

"GTM® Sportswear is honored to be partnering with the NHSCA in recognizing outstanding student athletes such as Anders. He has really shown his commitment and dedication to his sport and is a great example for the youth in our communities," said Nikki Miller, Vice President of Marketing for GTM® Sportswear. “We are very proud of him and his outstanding achievements."

The NHSCA and GTM® Sportswear honor one deserving high school athlete each month.  NHSCA coaches nominate commendable athletes through the NHSCA website at www.nhsca.com.  Each month six finalists are selected by the NHSCA and presented via ballot to a group of high school sports writers, high school coaches, NHSCA and GTM® representatives to choose the winner.  Out of the eight recipients of the monthly award, one athlete will be chosen as the GTM® Sportswear Athlete of the Year in May 2012.
