The aim of the Conference and accompanying Exhibition is to afford all involved in the fire and rescue area the opportunity to debate current issues and to see the latest developments in fire service appliances and equipment, and to explore the newest technology in fire service operations and fire prevention.
Among the topics to be covered will be current Irish and UK fire service developments, regionalism of the fire service, the provision of combined fire and ambulance service, an effective building control system, operational risk taking, and the use of computer fire models.
The conference will be addressed by Chief Fire Officers from Ireland, the UK, Holland, Finland and Luxembourg and by Sean Hogan (Director, National Directorate for Fire and Emergency Management) Louise Craig (Chief Executive Officer, Institution of Fire Engineers), Dr. Guillermo Rein (Senior Lecturer, University of Edinburgh) and other speakers.
Conference Secretary and Chief Fire Officer for Louth County Fire and Rescue Service, Eamon Woulfe said that Fire Service personnel will use this year’s Conference as an opportunity to focus on service delivery options.
Mr. Woulfe added: “The conference programme covers a range of fire and rescue service delivery options into the future. These will delivered by speakers from a number of countries where the service delivery models and services provided are different to Ireland.
The annual showcase event for Ireland’s Fire and Emergency Services sector also will feature a Fire Industry and Technology Exhibition, which enables representatives from the manufacturing and trade sector involved in supplying emergency products to meet, network and exchange information with representatives and colleagues from the private and public sector.
