May 1, 2012 - PRLog -- Fort Myers, Fla.  (April 30, 2012) – Simon Property Group, Inc. of Indianapolis has contracted Fort Myers based LandQwest Commercial to assist with leasing at three properties on Florida’s West Coast; Coconut Point in Estero, Edison Mall in Fort Myers and Port Charlotte Town Center in Port Charlotte.  Simon Property Group, Inc., an S&P 100 company and the largest real estate company in the world, selected LandQwest Commercial due to their track record, local area knowledge and market expertise. Currently, LandQwest’s retail portfolio includes 40 anchored shopping centers, totaling over 10 million square feet of space.

“LandQwest Commercial has a major presence in Florida’s retail market, representing both landlords and tenants,” said John Mounce, Principal of LandQwest Commercial, who helped negotiate the agreement with Simon. He added, “Our goal is to find good, strong local and regional tenants that will be a great addition to the Simon portfolio.”

“In the last few years, during this down economy, we have had great success getting deals done and I attribute that to listening to the concerns of both parties and staying involved through the negotiation until the deal is signed,“ said Tom Strauss, Senior Director of Retail Services at LandQwest Commercial.  Strauss, who will work on the projects with Mounce and Matt Yaniglos, Managing Director of Retail Services, believes the first step to leasing the available Simon’s units will be to inform local and regional clients that these enclosed regional and lifestyle centers are available at affordable rates.

Coconut Point features 1.2 million square feet of retail space, office condos and residential housing and is the center focus for a 500-acre, master planned community. Currently, LandQwest is responsible for the bringing retailers Olive Garden, TGI Fridays, Five Guys Burgers, Starbucks, Zoom Tan and Yogurt Mountain to the lineup of 110 stores and 27 restaurants - all surrounding several acres of lakes with a boardwalk, in an open, Main Street-style shopping destination.
