ProductionParty.com, Australia’s 1st Crowdsourcing Video Production Platform Launches

ProductionParty.com, Australia’s first crowdsourcing platform for video production officially launches today, May 1, 2012.

May 1, 2012 - PRLog -- ProductionParty.com will disrupt the way that marketers, from small businesses to large corporations, source quality digital video.  It will also improve the way filmmakers, videographers, video animators, editors and production companies find jobs.

Combining many of the off-shoring and crowdsourcing principles found in sites like 99Designs.com for logos and Freelancer.com for web production, ProductionParty.com will give Australian marketers easy access to both a local and global supply of video-based creative talent, with an emphasis on choosing suppliers with relevant experience whilst receiving best value for money.

Currently it is free to post a public brief on ProductionParty.com. By completing a simple briefing form in less than 5 minutes, marketers can quickly and easily communicate their needs and their budget to a global network of pre-approved video production professionals who will then compete to secure the job.

The site caters for all types of video production, from web advertising and web how-to videos to corporate videos and high-end TVCs.

ProductionParty.com was co-founded by digital investment and start-up company, Foundry, together with strategic investors from advertising and video production industries.

Dale McCarthy, the founder of Foundry, was previously with Fairfax Digital, where one of her roles was Chief Marketing Officer. She said that the concept for ProductionParty.com was driven by the needs of the market. “As a seasoned marketer, I know that marketers are constantly under budgetary pressure, particularly around production costs for TVCs and the increasing demand for digital video. So much so, that the AANA have stated that one of their chief priorities for 2012 is to reduce the cost of video production.”

ProductionParty.com CEO, Dr Avi Ratnanesan, whose experience includes creating a leading mobile video festival, Mobile Screenfest, says “on the flipside, filmmakers number one complaint is difficulty obtaining regular paid work.  While they have excellent creative skills they sometimes lack marketing budgets or the expertise and networks to find jobs. ProductionParty.com uniquely solves the problem from both demand and supply ends.”

Stuart Cook, CEO of Zambrero, one of Australia’s fastest growing restaurant franchises, began receiving pitches as soon as his brief was posted on ProductionParty.com recently.  He found a suitable videographer within 24 hours and received a quote well under his intended budget. “I’m not very good at using other crowdsourcing websites, but the ProductionParty.com process was really easy – I will definitely use it again!” says Stuart.

Having been in Beta test mode for the past 6 weeks, ProductionParty.com is already generating revenue and receiving interest from major brands, publishers, creative agencies and Internet service providers, all of whom recognise the importance of digital video content and online video advertising for their businesses.

Examples of briefs that have appeared on the site to date include a $2000 ‘how to’ video for a new web site, a $15,000 TV commercial for a pasta brand and a $500 animation.

The IAB Australia predicts that Australian online advertising will surpass $3b in 2012, growing 20% year on year, whereas online video advertising one of the fastest growing segments, growing 53% year on year to Dec 2011^.

Forrester Research reports that compared with standard SEO, a correctly tagged digital video is 50 times more likely to appear on the first-page of Google’s search results*.

ProductionParty’s vision is to extend its reach to marketers in Australia and Asia, while continuing to grow its global supplier base of video and film production professionals.
