“We are privileged to have Marie serve on the board of The Dallas Institute as we continue our mission to provide new, intellectually stimulating programs to the Dallas community,” said J. Larry Allums Ph.D., executive director of the Dallas Institute. “Her prior experience with numerous non-profits in Dallas will be a tremendous asset to us and the city as a whole.”
Since retiring in 2010, Brehm has provided consulting, accounting and tax services to entrepreneurs in the start up phase of their small businesses. She serves extensively on boards and committees throughout the Dallas community, including those of Ursuline Academy, Jesuit College Preparatory School, the Kappa Alpha Theta Dallas Alumnae Foundation, the Dallas Christian Women’s Job Corp, Bishop Lynch High School, St. Rita Catholic Community and St. Rita School Parents’ Club.
“I am excited to embark on this new opportunity with The Dallas Institute,” Brehm said. “It is such an honor to be a part of this organization, which brings new ideas and thought leaders to our community to challenge and expand our views.”
