TPODMEP High School Students of Promise Mentoring Initiative, overall mission is to provide (grass-roots)
TPODMEP High School Students of Promise Mentoring Initiative will engage high school students living in underserved communities with:
• Effective Communication and Social Skills Training
• Education Tutoring Assistance
• Leadership Skills Training and Development
• Motivational and Hands-on Mentoring Projects
• And College Scholarships
TPODMEP college student members, professional mentors, success coaches and staff will collectively work together with TPODMEP High School Students of Promise Mentoring Initiative.
“There is a profound quote that states, Children are likely to live up to what you believe of them. And this initiative is designed to instill confidence and hope in students that are surrounded by the perils of negativity on a daily basis. There has to be a medium in place to combat the negative images that these students are exposed to and this initiative will give hope and opportunities to high school students, living in distressed neighborhoods,”
“At some point we have to stop, talking about what needs to be done in our communities and just have the boldness to get it done. There are some really great organizations that are working to help at risk students and we’re joining this mission,” said Betty Saintvil-Edmond, Executive Vice President of TPODMEP. “This program simply strives to help those that need us most.”
