s Day should be a day of love, peace admiration, so Domestic Violence Advocate and CEO of Safe Passage, Trish Steele, felt the need to bring Honors to the Mothers who have made the world a better place. Announcing the launch of their new Pre-Mother’s Day High Tea event called “Women In Bloom” as well as the very first “Good Samaritan” Award to be given to a good friend of Safe Passage, Mary Hudson. Author, International Speaker, former Radio Talk Show Host and mother of three, Mary Hudson has been ministering with her husband Keith, for the past 31 years. They started out their ministry in Santa Barbara, California, in the 80’s and have been traveling for the past ten years throughout the USA and internationally. They have been everywhere from Hawaii, to Asia, South America and Europe. Mary holds yearly “Arise” conferences to encourage women to rise up in who they are in Christ, to be bold, trailblazers and think outside the box. Mary is the author of the “Smart Bombs” and she and her husband Keith Hudson wrote “The Cry”. Her latest book called “Joyful Mother”, is now available for pre-order online and will be released on August 7, 2012.
Hosting this event is the Sony Tri-Star Award Winning Singer/Actress Brenda Epperson, best known as Ashley Abbott from the Young and the Restless. Brenda just recently shot a new Pilot for an upcoming show called “Aesthetic TV”, where she is the Host and interviews Doctors from around the country showing the latest and greatest beauty treatments. She is the winner of the Angel Award for the Best Song “If You Believe” from the movie, Follow Your Heart, and has opened up for Lionel Richie on a world-wide tour. Her new Book “Blessedness of Brokenness” will be available at the event.
Among the many Celebrity Guests in attendance, performing will be Singer/Songwriter Alfie Silas Durio. Alfie has toured with Gino Vanelli, Whitney Houston (sang in the Body Guard), and Barbara Streisand, she worked with Michael Jackson, she was the Music Contractor for the Lion King, and sang on the upcoming Elton John and Leon Russell CD. President Obama’s commendation thanked Safe Passage for their devotion to service and for doing all they can “to shape a better tomorrow for our great Nation.” Safe Passage was honored by Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, Police Chief LeRoy Baca, City Controller Wendy Greuel and Councilman Dennis Zine as well, in 2011.
