April 30, 2012 - PRLog -- The Nicholson Volunteer Fire Company has lined up seven of Pennsylvania’s finest wineries for the May 12th, Vineyards by the Viaduct Wine Festival at the carnival grounds.  The most recent winery to be added to the lineup is the Ferrone Family Winery of Jessup.  The Ferrone Winery features 26 flavors of wine, many of which will be available for sampling during the event.   Other wineries attending this year’s festival Endless Mountains’ favorites,  Grovedale and the Nimble Hill Vineyard and Winery.  Both Grovedale and Nimble Hill take part in only a few select events throughout the year. Both Jeff Homer of Grovedale and Gary Toczko of Nimble Hill stress the importance of helping “local volunteer organizations”.  Knowing that one-hundred percent of the proceeds benefit the Nicholson Fire Company, both wineries are committed to being at the Vineyards by the Viaduct event.   Rick Lochen of the Nicholson Fire Company says “this year’s lineup certainly is a good representation of Pennsylvania finest wineries” and is pleased to include 2012 Pennsylvania Farm Show Medalists, The Antler Ridge Winery  as well as Northeast PA favorites, Maiolatesi’s Wine Cellars.  Also new to the event this year will be the Sand Castle Winery out of Bucks County and Peace Valley Winery of Chalfont, PA.
In addition of showcasing PA’s finest wines, Vineyards by the Viaduct offers great entertainment.  Twist of Fate and Retro Rocket  will offer the crowd a mix of music covering the 60’s through today.  The Fire Company recently announced that southern rock favorites “Mace In Dickson” will also be taking the stage for 2 hours during the festivities.
With well over 50 wines available for sampling, attendees will also find an excellent array of food offering including the Hotel Almont’s award winning shrimp bisque, Mr. Rick’s Pretzels, plus sausage sandwiches, Ma Greenley’s BBQ, Nick’s Concessions featuring crab cakes, Buckwheat’s BBQ and much more.  Vendors will also be offering fine arts and crafts, jewelry, and other specialty items.
Vendors are still being accepted, those interested are asked to contact Richard Lochen at 570-942-7481 to inquire about the event or make reservations.
