Eco-lodge proposed for Islamorada in Florida Keys

May 1, 2012 - PRLog -- Fort Lauderdale-based design firm EDSA has come up with eco-designs to develop roughly 7.5 acres owned by Coral Springs developer and sportsman Bert Vorstman.
The land is located at Mile Marker 83 between the Overseas Highway and the ocean side of the Old Highway.

Plans call for about 60 guest bedrooms clustered in buildings around a main eco-lodge, a statement said.

Plans include improved storm water control, with natural filtration systems and enhanced tree canopy; energy-efficiency in lighting, heating and buildings; solar-power; recycling; and fuel-efficient vehicles, among other features.
The EDSA design team has been working in eco-tourism design for years, in places as diverse as China, Africa, South America and Hawaii.
