JURORS SAY THE DARNDEST THINGS: A CLE discussion about how jurors reach their decisions

Miami - The Association of Litigation Support Professionals, South Florida Chapter to host Jury Consulting CLE & Discussion May 17th at the Sheraton Fort Lauderdale Airport & Cruise Port Hotel in Dania, Florida.

April 29, 2012 - PRLog -- Miami - The Association of Litigation Support Professionals, South Florida Chapter is pleased to announce an exciting CLE taking place May 17th at the Sheraton Fort Lauderdale Airport & Cruise Port Hotel in Dania, Florida. Despite having heard thousands of mock jurors deliberate, the jurors still have the ability to surprise, shock, and amaze Magnus’ trial consulting team. In the jurors’ efforts to get to the heart of a matter, they decide the issues in ways that surprise Magnus’ clients as well. Magnus has compiled some of the more interesting discussions in this presentation to demonstrate how the jurors reached their decisions. While some of the discussions are humorous, the ramifications were usually serious for the trial teams involved. Dr. Pigott will explain the context and implications of the deliberations shown in the video clips during this presentation.

Guests are invited to come for networking and cocktails on May 17th at 5:30. Dinner will begin at 6:15pm. Dinner is $30 for ALSP Members and $40 for Non-Members (Group Discounts Available).

The Association of Litigation Support Professionals brings together a wide variety of professional service providers with a wide array of expertise. One of the benefits of attending ALSP functions is becoming aware of the services and expertise available to trial lawyers in a forum that allows one to become an informed consumer of litigation support services. Trial or Jury Consultants provide expertise in the decision making process and evaluate how a case will ultimately be understood and decided by fact finders, most often jurors and a jury, but sometimes a Judge (Bench Trial), mediators, or arbitrators. This month’s presentation by Dr. Melissa Pigott, co-founder of Magnus Research Consultants, Inc. provides the opportunity to view mock juror deliberations and to hear from Dr. Pigott about how jury decisions are reached. The opportunity to see behind the door of the jury room is rare, whether you are a lawyer, for whom CLE credit is available or you work in any area of litigation support, seeing how the work you do culminates in decisions by jurors will be interesting.
