By: Lavanda Brown Interfaith Hospitality Network, put their heads together and created Tour de Kids, a bicycle tour around the park to raise money for homeless children. The 4th Annual Tour De Kids will take place on May 5th, 2012 at Lake Mayer. Registration is $10 and includes an event T shirt, lunch and access to carnival style activities in the park. Marlie is now a 6th grade student at Oglethorpe Charter Academy and an active member of the Tour de Kids planning committee. She is sharing her youthful ideas and getting others involved in this worthwhile cause! The main goal of this event is to raise money and awareness about homelessness in our Savannah Community. IHN also hopes to engage children from local schools and congregations with this bike ride around the park. At the end of the tour, the children will enjoy carnival style activities, entertainment, healthy snacks and safe kids’ information.
