Local Pinup Artist Debuts First Exhibit

PRLog (Press Release) - Apr. 27, 2012 - Delray Beach, FL, April 27, 2012:  Local artist Robert Mayes’ artwork will be on exhibit at Kevro’s Art Bar, located at 166 Southeast 2^nd Avenue in Delray Beach, throughout the month of May. This is the artist’s first public exhibition, titled “The Art of the Sale”, in honor of his current subject matter.

Mayes will appear on-site for meet & greets during the following dates and times:

5/3 - 8 PM – 12 AM;       5/6 - 8 PM – 12 PM;      5/9 - 8 PM – 11 PM;       5/16 - 8 PM – 11 PM;     5/18 - 8 PM – 11 PM;    5/23 - 8 PM – 11 PM;     5/25 - 8 PM – 10 PM;     5/30 - 8 PM – 11 PM

10 + pieces of Mayes’ artwork will be on display and each will be available for sale, as well as limited edition and standard prints which will be personally signed by the artist.

Robert Mayes hails from Texas, has spent ample time in the Caribbean, and now resides in West Palm Beach with his girlfriend Penny. Mayes’ artwork blends the modern with nostalgia, portraying traditional pin-up models set before today’s most ubiquitous logos, in a culturally-relevant, whimsical manner. The artwork, usually crafted in gouache or pencil, will appeal to collectors of vintage pin-up art as well as modern pop art enthusiasts.

Kevro’s Art Bar is an eclectic jamboree of creativity South of Atlantic Avenue in Delray Beach. The lively venue offers a full bar and an oasis of a patio, regularly featuring local musicians and artists, reflecting the multicultural, art-friendly spirit of the Delray community.
