Gardening, an age old art, has survived the test of time, driven by sheer passion so many still practice it as a daily chore, enjoy and horn their skills to grow, maintain and upkeep a good garden around their place of living. The need to create awareness about planting and growing of trees has now become a necessity for posterity, as the future generation is faced with a grim situation where greenery is becoming a rarity.
Lauding the step and effort taken by SPR&RG Mr. Ramakrishnan emphasised the need to focus on growing native plants, herbs, shrubs and trees which are more resistant to disease and well suited to tropical conditions rather than exotic plants. He demonstrated by planting a sapling to a pot and also shared useful tips on how to plant maintain and grow plants inside the house or in the open area and also on the variety of plants that can be selected. All the employees and prospective customers of SPR&RG who attended the workshop had ‘hands on’ experience to plant a sapling in a pot. Each of them went back home with a plant in a pot to ‘Grow a Garden’ - their way.
