Off-the-grid survival expert and political commentator Brian Brawdy discusses why he feels the Auspit is perfect for anyone cooking in the outdoors in this video: http://www.youtube.com/
The Auspit rotisserie (http://www.AuspitBBQ.com) cooks up to 18 pounds of meats, fish and veggies to perfection right over a campfire or using the zero-footprint Auspit FireTrough. Auspit is cordless, running off two D-Sized batteries for up to 90 hours, so there is no need to worry about where to plug it in. The basic kit weighs only 11 pounds and fits into a compact carrying case the size of a chair bag.
A campfire is a magical experience all to itself, and when you upgrade that fire by adding rotating meats—with their juices turning around and the irresistible smells—it becomes the hypnotic “Auspit Experience”. Let the motor and the fire do the work while you tend to other chores, like drinking wine. Amidst perhaps a few adult beverages being consumed, the upcoming meal becomes the center of good times and good conversation.
Auspit Rotisseries was picked by HGTV in 2010 as one of the “Top 10 Products of the Year” on their popular “RV 2010” show.
NEW: Fire Fishin’!
A fun new campfire activity is sweeping the country: Fire Fishin'. Kids and adults alike are enjoying this fun and easy way to roast up marshmallows, hot dogs, etc.
What makes Fire Fishing possible is the new Fire Fishin' Pole. A stainless steel "line and hook" hang down from a colorful metal rod, which has a comfortable wooden handle. The "hook" is an H-shaped set of skewers with a hinge at the midpoint. You load the skewers with popular foods like marshmallows and then “cast” them out to the sweet spot of the fire. Once they start getting done on one side, you give the pole a jig and the skewers flip over to the other side. It’s fun!
The skewers can hold up to four marshmallows or two hot dogs. You can cook those favorites or get creative and try things like shrimp, apple slices coated with cinnamon & honey, brats, caramel covered pear slices, or even bacon-wrapped scallops.
No more worrying about deforesting the campsite in search of branches or getting toxins from coat hanger paint, the skewer portion of Fire Fishin' Pole which holds the food is kitchen grade stainless steel.
The patent-pending Fire Fishin’ Poles were invented and are manufactured in Minnesota, USA.
