BEST Inc Announces the Release of the NPI Step Stencil

April 26, 2012 - PRLog -- Rolling Meadows, IL — BEST Inc (www.solder.net) announces the release of a new NPI step stencil. This stencil combines BEST’s StencilQuick™ technology with its ability to design and fabricate SMT metal stencils. Unlike other options including electroformed stencils, the BEST NPI step stencil is available in 24 hours after checkplot approval.
The combination of these two technologies allows select areas of the PCB to have a greater volume of solder paste applied to them. In select areas of the metal SMT stencil, polyimide preforms are applied to the board side of the stencil thereby increasing the thickness in those locations. Per the “IPC 7525 Stencil Design Guidelines” the keep out area from the step is recommended to be 35-50 mils per each 1mil of step height differential. These stencil area available in both the prototype or foil only versions. The cost of the stencil is $200.00.
