Hill and Etty Gorman, Answers Pet Food Vice President of Market Development and Sales, will educate attendees to the May 3 program on the fact that dogs and cats were not created to digest large amounts of carbohydrates, which is the base of most commercial pet foods today. These animals inherently were created to digest raw protein-based diets. Hill stated, “Animal naturopathic and holistic doctors have found that many diseases pets suffer from are linked to high carbohydrate, grain-based pet food diets based on pre-packaged commercial foods. These diseases include chronic skin conditions, auto-immune disease, allergies, urinary tract infections, kidney stones, degenerative joint disease and cancer, to name just a few.” Nancy Stokes, owner of Litchfield Pet Supply in Bantam commented, “This is why Pet Aesthetics, the Natural Pet Market and Litchfield Pet Supply have united to support Answers Pet Food’s pioneering founders coming to northern Connecticut to help area pet owners understand the importance of healthy diets for their pets.”
The three local area pet-business owners recognize a strong desire among their customers for ‘the best possible foods and nutrition’ for their pets. The owners all work with Answers Pet Food to bring raw, whole food products into their individual stores. “Just like pet owners,” stated Melinda Mangiafico, owner of the Natural Pet Market in Woodbury, “we want the animals we provide food products for, and groom and care for, to be as healthy as possible. We all firmly believe that pet owners from throughout our area will benefit significantly from what these two astonishing leaders in the raw, whole pet food industry will bring to this program in Bantam.”
