April 26, 2012 - PRLog -- My Wonderful Walls is a family-owned and operated company from Tennessee that specializes in creating unique, USA-made wall décor, including everything from wall stickers to wall mural stencil kits. They want each and every one of their customers to succeed in their home renovation and makeover projects, and are excited to offer them fun, long-lasting wall décor options that are perfect for anyone and any project.

They particularly love to hear from customers who have had success in painting the room of their child's dreams.  Now, they would like to help even more by offering these ten great tips to help their customers paint like a professional.

My Wonderful Walls staff recommends that people take the following steps to ensure that the finished room looks nothing short of wonderful when it is completed:

•   Always Use Primer
•   Use Professional Supplies
•   Clean Before You Paint
•   Have Everything You Need
•   Paint During Dry Days
•   Scrape Away The Old
•   Keep Going, Don't Paint Over Wet Paint
•   Prepare Your Room
•   Out With The Brush - In With The Roller
•   Be Patient

Following these tips, which include cleaning the walls, having enough paint (professionals recommend one gallon for every 400 square feet), covering up anything you do not intend to paint, and letting the paint dry will offer up some great professional painting results.

One tip, which recommends the use of a roller over a brush, is best utilized on large surfaces, such as your base colors.  My Wonderful Walls does recommend using paintbrushes for smaller, more detailed work, such as when using their Wall Mural Stencil Kits.

The most important tip, however, is having fun.  Do not let the painting days get you stressed out.  If it doesn't seem like it's turning out the way you want, or not drying the right color, just step back and take a minute.  Besides, the paint always dries a different color than when it's wet and sometimes two coats are necessary.
