GA Music Awards Honors SOS Band in Inaugural Year

April 25, 2012 - PRLog -- Georgia is known for its’ contributions to the music industry. There’s just a lot of musical talent, and through the years a lot of bands have done well for themselves and brought honor and recognition to the state of Georgia. In the inaugural year of the GA Music Awards, the show’s production team has chosen to honor the SOS Band with an Achievement Award for their continued contribution to music.

Selecting from the many talented artists from Georgia was no easy task. The selection criteria were not only about the achievements of the band, but their inspiration and impact on other musicians. Florence Swain, manager for the SOS Band, was thrilled when notified of the selection, stating “To be honored at home is such a humbling and meaningful experience. The SOS Band started in Atlanta, and went on to do great things with their music. We hope that the emerging artists selected for the GA Music Awards have the same success as the SOS Band."

Omar McCallop, of O Ent, Inc., is pleased the selection committee chose the SOS Band. “They’re legendary, not only in Georgia, but internationally, as well. It is absolutely our pleasure to award them for their achievements through the years, while at the same time and on the same stage recognizing the emerging artists nominated in their categories for the GA Music Awards.”
