The "Angels" finally arrive in Perth!

Despite improvements to parental leave, flexible working hours, telecommuting and job sharing, many women still find their work-life balance anything but balanced. One marketing consultancy is set to change all that.

April 25, 2012 - PRLog -- Despite improvements to parental leave, flexible working hours, telecommuting and job sharing, many women still find their work-life balance anything but balanced.

According to Michelle Gamble from Marketing Angels, many Australian businesses are still falling behind in promoting a truly balanced workplace. As a result, talented people are leaving in droves.
“Despite claiming a move toward a work-life balance, many organisations still struggle to realistically accommodate flexible working arrangements,” she said. “This is especially seen when women choose to have children or move into a part-time role for personal reasons.

“This is leading to a talent drain in many industries. Talented women are taking on lower level roles (or leaving the company) in an attempt to achieve more of a work-life balance. However, most would choose to stay in their current role if it allowed more flexibility.”

Ms Gamble started Marketing Angels in 2001 as a way to help herself and other marketing experts achieve work-life balance. Through the Marketing Angels model, “angels” (her team of self-employed marketing experts who reached senior levels in corporate organisations) choose how many hours they want to work each month – and which days they want to do it.  They pool their collective skills to offer a complete marketing service to SMEs.

“The Marketing Angels model allows our consultants to continue working by incorporating flexibility into their careers,” said Gamble. “They get to choose their hours, their clients, their location and, as they are still in the workforce, get to stay in touch with the fast-changing world of marketing.”

This week, Marketing Angels launched in Perth as the first marketing agency of its type in Western Australia.

According to Perth “Angel”, Sharan Uppal, Perth businesses will finally get access to local marketing consultants who know and understand the WA market.

“Western Australian SMEs finally have access to experienced marketing managers, and a national network of knowledge” said Uppal. “Our flexibility means they have the flexibility to outsource as little – or as much – of their marketing as they want.

“The Marketing Angels local knowledge and experience, guarantees that SMEs get the tailored and consistent marketing they need, “she said. “Marketing in Perth is set to change.”
