PRLog - Apr. 25, 2012 - CHARLESTON, S.C. -- 9 year old J’Lynn Dewese has been inspired to start a jewelry business after watching the ABC’s series Shark Tank and seeing young entrepreneur,  Maddie Bradshaw, tell how she began her bottle cap jewelry business when she was only 10.  Like many young kids, J’Lynn loves pretend play and her favorite pretend play is having an art gallery and selling her custom drawings.  After seeing the success of another child, it was at no surprise to her family when J’Lynn told her mom she wanted to start a business.   Her mom being a business owner herself, thought the idea was great, only if she could come up with something just as creative as the bottle cap jewelry.

J’Lynn has had the opportunity to attend and even participate in many events with her mom since her mom is an active sponsor of many non-profit organization such as the Cooper River Bridge Run, Susan G. Komen, LifePoint, etc… and at many of these events, there are booths that have giveaways or sell great products to help raise awareness and funds for a specific cause, but these products mostly cater to adults.

What makes Planet JD so unique, is that their jewelry will help kids be able to participate in bringing awareness, raising funds and supporting education with products made specifically for kids.   J’Lynn’s goal is to partner with non-profit organizations/chapters, schools, and other groups to conduct fundraisers that will not only benefit the organization with funds, but also bring awareness by having custom designs made specifically for that organization or school.   Adding this different touch to the way she wanted to sell her jewelry, her mom was sold on the idea of creating bottle cap jewelry as well, along with dog tags for boys.

Planet JD is jewelry with a purpose and is ‘For a Kid, By a Kid’, perfectly suited and trendy for young kids, tweens and teens, both girls and boys.  Some of their products/designs can even be worn by adults.

On today, April 25, 2012, J’Lynn Dewese has officially opened the doors and fundraising avenues of Planet JD.
