StreetPass NYC Partners With Pokemon DS NYC for Charity Fundraiser Tournament for AIDS Walk NY

April 25, 2012 - PRLog -- StreetPass NYC is teaming up with Pokemon DS NYC to participate in the AIDS WALK NY on May 20th as a Walking Team. Please join us at Radio Star Karaoke (3 West 35th Street, New York, NY 10001) on Sunday, May 13th to participate in an action packed Nintendo-themed Charity Fundraiser Tournament.

“Last year, StreetPass NYC was proud to be a walking team for AIDS WALK NY 2011 and raised $280 in only five days”, said Jordan White, Founder and Event Organizer of StreetPass NYC. “This year, we plan on raising at least three times that amount and have a bigger walking crew. We are super excited for our partnership with Pokemon DS NYC as well as Radio Star Karaoke for allowing us to use their venue for this amazing event were gamers come together to help fight a global epidemic.

On May 13th, from 5:00 PM until 11:30 PM, Nintendo fans from all five boroughs can come down and compete in four amazing games: Super Smash Bros Brawl (Wii), Kid Icarus: Uprising (Nintendo 3DS), Mario Kart 7 (Nintendo 3DS) and Pokemon Black & White (Nintendo DS).

Each tournament has a required donation fee of $5 per game tournament and players can compete in all or any mix of the four games. All proceeds go to AIDS Walk NY and GMHC. We also highly encourage participants to buy food and drink from Radio Star Karaoke for allowing us use this venue free of charge with no cover fee. We also warn if you are under 21 you need a Parent or Guardian to enter the venue.

Prizes for the final four winners will be Trophies for each game as well as other prizes that our partners are currently into. Tournament Rules, Sign Up Information and other parts of the event will be revealed in the near future.
