While air filters and spray booth maintenance continue to attract new orders across the U.K, Beta’s buildings service and maintenance division is also in constant demand from clients across the North West.
“There is certainly no doom and gloom here at Underbank Mill,” said Beta Group Managing Director Martin Lewis from his office in the heart of Bacup. “As we are now in our 25th year it is not surprising that we are perceived as a well-established and trusted partner by all our client companies.
“Our unique selling points are reliability & responsiveness of service, as well as quality products & services at competitive pricing, and as a result we have become the first choice for those clients who want a speedy, efficient and value-for-money service whether they come to us for air filter products, or maintenance service for spray booths or buildings services.
“Our in-house service and customer care-centre staff also play a crucial role in delivering the best possible service to our customers by regularly communicating with clients to keep them informed of the progress on tasks being carried out on their behalf.”
Mr Lewis, a fully qualified engineer, established the business in modest rented premises with just four staff back in 1987. The company initially started manufacturing air filters for the heating and ventilation sector but quickly grew and moved into the provision of maintenance services for the paint spray booths sector as well as the commercial buildings across the region.
Determined to improve his business skills in order to grow his company, Mr Lewis took time out to study at Manchester Business School and Bolton University was subsequently awarded a Master of Business Administration scholarship aged 42.
Today the Beta Group comprises four divisions, has a staff of more than 50 and an annual turnover of £4 million.
“As a company we are in great shape and looking forward to building on what we have achieved in the years to come,” added Mr Lewis. “But we plan to take time out this summer to celebrate our 25th anniversary with our staff and our customers.
