Veteran river outfitter, O.A.R.S., has released a brand-new whitewater orientation video. The standard-setting video series is the result of more than three years of film production on multiple rivers and 40+ years of expertise as the world’s leading whitewater rafting outfitter, distilled into a polished 23-minute educational video.
O.A.R.S. President and Founder, George Wendt stated: "The goal of our whitewater orientation video is to help better prepare our clients for the realities of a river trip, before they arrive onsite. Of course, every trip is different depending on the river, the time of year and the weather, but this video covers the essentials for managing your own risks on the river."
The 11-part orientation video serves as a comprehensive introduction to a river trip, covering just about everything, from footwear and paddling technique, to river hazards and involuntary swimming. The video series features on-river dramatizations and actual flips, wraps and involuntary swims from O.A.R.S. trips on the Colorado River through the Grand Canyon, Idaho’s Salmon River and California’s Tuolumne River.
The whitewater orientation video has been made available on the O.A.R.S. website at www.oars.com/videos/oars-whitewater-orientation, and on YouTube at youtube.com/oarsweb. The full 23-minute video will be available for viewing online and on DVD for all O.A.R.S. guests before their trips. O.A.R.S. also plans to make the video series available to the National Park Service, Bureau of Land Management, the U.S. Forest Service, and the Boy Scouts of America as a public resource for river runners.
Wendt concluded that, "this video will be a valuable educational piece for our clients as well as for anyone embarking on a whitewater river trip."
Since 1969, O.A.R.S. has set the standard in first-class rafting, sea kayaking and multi-sport vacations, with destinations and unparalleled experiences on over 35 rivers and coastlines of the world.  O.A.R.S. caters to active travelers of all ages and abilities with more than 75 unique itineraries worldwide, including one-day and weekend escapes.  For more information on O.A.R.S.’ eco-friendly adventures, visit www.oars.com, email the company at info@oars.com or call 1-800-346-6277.
