“At Golan’s, we are always trying to improve our business culture,” said Sales Manager Jonathan Frawley. “We found that for many of our local moves, our trucks were larger than they needed to be. The new trucks use less fuel and provide a great experience for our customers.”
In addition, to their new vehicle line, Golan’s is also taking steps in their own community to increase awareness of environmental issues. At this year’s Skokie Independence Day Parade, Golan’s will be handing out reusable grocery bags. These bags help to reduce the use of plastic grocery bags which take decades to decompose. The reusable grocery bag will also contain information about local businesses in Skokie to support local consumerism.
“We have participated in the Skokie Independence Day Parade for years,” said Naftali Garber, Sales and Marketing Coordinator at Golan’s. “The best thing about this year is that we are taking our commitment of environmentally responsible business practices to the Skokie community, while at the same time promoting local small businesses.”
This spring, Golan’s will help Chicago area residents do their spring cleaning responsibly. Golan’s will help residents recycle electronics including, cell phones, printers, cartridges, scanners, hard drives, and old light bulbs. These materials will be picked up by Golan’s movers and taken to the City of Chicago Computer Recycling facility. Residents will not be charged for this service. Golan’s has additional information about the recycling event on their website: http://www.golansmoving.com/
In the coming months, Golan’s is committed to making more efforts to increase their green initiatives. Stay up to date by “liking” Golan’s Facebook page or by checking back on their website (www.golansmoving.com)
