April 25, 2012 - PRLog -- Trewithen Dairy's World Record Daring Dive.

Summer 2012 will see Cornish milk producer Trewithen Dairy launching a fresh rebrand across all its product ranges and the team at the dairy has surpassed even their bravest ambitions to create a mega stunt that is certain to grab attention
and cause a stir. For Trewithen Dairy is staging a very special World Record. On Friday 8 June, at the Royal Cornwall Show, the high flying Professor Splash will perform a death defying 30ft dive into just 12 inches of the freshest Trewithen Cornish milk.

Professor Splash is the only diver in the world to have mastered the art of shallow water diving. From heights ranging from 30 to 80 feet, this astounding entertainer plummets into shallow pools, some containing no more than a foot of water. Colorado-based Professor Splash has featured on TV shows across the world however he has never attempted a dive into milk – and the Trewithen Dairy dive into 12 inches of milk from happy, healthy, Cornish cows, on Friday 8th June, will therefore set a new world record.

American Darren Taylor is the talent behind Professor Splash. With more than 25 years of professional high diving experience, he has travelled the world breaking world records and entertaining millions. Professor Splash holds eight world records in five countries (Italy, Spain, Germany, Japan, and the US) and is considered the greatest stunt diver in the world.

He is currently on record in both the Guinness Book of World Records and Ripley's 2009 Edition.

Trewithen is a pioneering family business and is the third largest direct milk buyer in Cornwall, with direct supplies from 20 local farms. The Royal Cornwall Show will see the launch of a new Trewithen brand across all of its milk, clotted cream, butter and yoghurt products, and the dairy is bringing Professor Splash all the way from the US to make sure that no-one misses the fun.

Regular updates about Professor Splash and his preparations for the Trewithen Daring Dive are available on a new website ‘splash’ page at www.trewithendairy.co.uk and on the dairy’s facebook page, and via the world’s first tweeting cow (#tweetingcow), another new Trewithen property.

Speaking from Denver, Colorado, Professor Splash says, “I’ve been diving into water for over 25 years but I’ve never hurtled into milk before so I’ve been doing some important technical research. There is a difference in the density of milk so I’m taking all this into very serious consideration. I’ve never been to Cornwall either so I’m really looking forward to seeing it all from a high height – apparently I should be able to see the sea from the top of the stand before my jump. And I’m definitely looking forward to meeting the happy, healthy Trewithen cows and savouring a nice cool glass of the
white stuff after my dive.”

Owner of Trewithen Dairy, Bill Clarke says, “We definitely wanted to make a major impact with our launch at the Royal Cornwall Show and what could be a bigger and better way to do it than with the world-record holding Professor Splash?
Our customers can now follow the plans and progress on our social media feeds and get involved with the excitement. As you can imagine we’re all very much looking forward to meeting the man himself and to seeing him flying through the air and landing in the freshest of milk from Cornish cows!”

Royal Cornwall Show secretary, Christopher Riddle, is sure Professor Splash’s world record attempt will generate massive interest saying, “This is going to be a great addition to a main ring programme that is already packed with action. The Royal Cornwall Show is the right time and place for Trewithen Dairy to launch its new brand. It’s the perfect mixture of business and entertainment – and there’s plenty of both going on at the show.”
