April 25, 2012 - PRLog -- A Hipperholme based lingerie shop, Brassiere Lingerie, is supporting the charity ‘Against Breast Cancer’ with an innovative fundraising campaign – The Bra Bank. Customers and women of West Yorkshire are being encouraged to deposit unwanted bras into the Bra Bank at the Hipperholme store. Bra’s that are suitable for recycling are then sent to developing countries across Africa where they are then traded on a local level offering women access to bras which traditionally have been too expensive to produce in Africa.

To make the fundraising campaign even more successful, Brassiere Lingerie will be donating 10% of purchases to the Against Breast Cancer charity when customers deposit a bra into the Bra Bank.

Emma Morley, owner of Brassiere Lingerie said “This really is a double whammy in terms of supporting good causes. Not only are Against Breast Cancer securing valuable funds for breast cancer research but also women throughout Africa are able to gain access to affordable bras”.

For every 9000 bras collected across the UK, the Against Breast Cancer charity receives £1000 from the textile recycling company behind the scheme.
