By: The World Affairs Forum Before becoming Ambassador to the U.S., Dr. Dino Patti Djalal served on Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono’s Special Staff for International Affairs and as Presidential Spokesperson. Through his work in Indonesia’s Department of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Dino Patti Djalal has worked in Dili, London and Washington D.C. Working closely with Robert Scher of the Pentagon, he organized the “US-Indonesia Security Dialogue,” an annual bilateral consultation on security and defense matters that continues today. He is the author of five books and produced “Remarkable Indonesia,” which celebrates the transformation of Indonesia into a vibrant democracy and aired on major networks, including CNN, CNBC and Al Jazeera.
