Winning the 7th tournament of the season, Team Combat finishes in 1st place.
Team Combat went an impressive 4-0 in the tournament facing a tough hitting well coached Vera Hawks in the Championship game. After taking 1 run losses against 4 top 10 teams during the last few months, Team Combat Orlando 11 u team took a step to regroup this week.
Garrett Evans the team’s newest addition made his presence felt from the mound as he closed games for Team Combat which in the past seemed to get away from them. In his "closer" role last weekend, Garrett earned one win and 2 saves in three games including the championship game. In 5 1/3 innings over 3 games he gave up 2 hits, and struck out 10 and gave up 0 walks and allowed 1 run.
One of the main sources of building teamwork and character has always been youth sports. Team combat is part of The Central Florida Baseball Academy (CFBA). The CFBA helps in developing positive character traits and a keen understanding of the sport of baseball through the Combat 11U baseball team. CFBA’s Combat 11U team for the 2011-2012 is dedicated to teaching all participants a commitment to lifetime fundamentals, both on and off the field. The program begins with a top-level travel baseball coach, and includes players and committed parents who understand that it takes one big family to create a winning team, both on and off the field.
CFBA doesn’t simply teach the basic fundamentals, they teach the game of baseball. The academy provides each player with year-round instruction and quality coaching from experienced professionals and strives to instill a strong sense of sportsmanship and teamwork in each player, while learning to become successful in the fundamentals of baseball.
