This workshop covers information useful to CORs, Program Managers, Management analysts, program analysts, and industry business development representatives they need to know.  The future of federal contractiing is moving away from government writing performance work statements and having industry do it using SOOs.

Learn about the process, rules, procedures, and required format for Performance Work Statements and FAR 37.603 and the PWS Handbook. Refreshments and snack provided.

COST: $299 by credit card/government purchase card or SF-182 with FAST PAY authorized in Block C6.  SF-182s without "FAST PAY" authorized not accepted.

COURSE CONTENT: This intensive one-day course: "Understanding PWS &SOOs" provides
attendees the opportunity to earn either a standard 8 CLP credits (in class) up to a maximum of 10 CLP credits based on an optional extracurricular homework requirement. This workshop provides opportunity for students to maximize and meet their FAC-COR requirements for less money. Our homework assignment will also grant up to 2 additional credit hours after researching, and doing a short case study on a PWS task statement.  Attendees which only attend, but do not perform the homework will only receive 8 CLPs. The workshop is an intensive in-depth view of FAR Part 37 the Seven Steps to Performance Based Acquisition and How to develop and write a Performance Work Statement (PWS) and develop and write a formal Statement of Objectives (SOO). Content include:

TOPICS COVERED:
Overview of COR responsibilities for developing a Requirements package (1 hour)
FAR Part 37 with emphasis on Sub-part 37.602 (1 hour)
The Seven Steps to Performance Based Acquisition (2 hours)
Format and Development a Performance Work Statement and Statement of Objective (2 hours)
Hands on Student Exercises (2 hours)

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

• Understand the COR role in Requirements development
• Identify and learn about the Seven Steps to Performance Based Acquisition
• Learn how to format and write a Performance Work Statement and Statement of Objectives.
• Learn by creating a simple, but sound Performance Work Statement in class.
• Learn by doing, and creating a simply Statement of Objectives in class.
