F.I.R.S.T. School to Present Workshop: “Learn How to Get a Job in Digital Media”

Local ACCET accredited digital media school offers free, 3-hour workshop on Tuesday, January 31, from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm
 
April 23, 2012 - PRLog -- Orlando, Florida – January 23, 2012 – The Florida Institute of Recording, Sound and Technology (F.I.R.S.T. School) founded in 2004 in Orlando, Florida, will present a workshop titled “Learn How to Get a Job in Digital Media”, for current and graduate students, happening on Tuesday, January 31st, from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Director, Alan Forbes, will be the presenter of the 3-hour workshop.

“This is an incredible opportunity for our current and graduate students to learn how to secure a great job in digital media,” stated Alan Forbes, Director. “Here at F.I.R.S.T. School, we care about our students’ future, and want to help them succeed in their search for entry-level positions in the recording arts and film and video production.”

During the workshop students will learn:
•   Where & how to apply for jobs
•   How to get 100 job leads in their email box each week!
•   How to research the job market
•   Do's and Don'ts about networking
•   Rules for submitting a resume and cover letter
•   Do's and Don'ts during an interview
•   Reasons for rejection
•   Branding & marketing
•   Industry resources and information to find job openings
•   Using social media in a professional job-search manner

There will be a question & answer session after the workshop. As a BONUS, each attendee will receive a free, 50-page F.I.R.S.T School exclusive "Career Development Handbook". Cookies and punch will be served during the break. This special event is open only to current and graduate students of F.I.R.S.T. School. R.S.V.P. is required.

For out of state students or students whose personal schedule will not allow their attendance, the workshop will be videotaped in full (including the Q & A session), and will be available for viewing soon after the event... and the 50-page F.I.R.S.T. School exclusive "Career Development Handbook" will be available to download.
