It was Thursday, March 8, 2012. Trevor Bayne was entered to run in the Nationwide Race at Bristol, TN, but after his “would be” sponsor pulled out at the last minute, no one was certain whether he would race.
For fans of Trevor Bayne and the sport as a whole, this was a true disappointment. Trevor Bayne made history in 2011 as the youngest person ever to win the Daytona 500. This year, prior to the March race at Bristol, Trevor was fourth in points competing for the Nationwide Championship. In this fierce competition, it was vital that Trevor not sit out for the Bristol Race.
Through a “friend of a friend”, the staff at Yourracecar.com approached Rocky Bayne, the father of Trevor Bayne, regarding sponsorship of the number 60 Roush Nationwide race car.
After tense negotiations, YourRaceCar.com and Roush Fenway Racing appeared to reach an impasse. As Rocky Bayne continued to facilitate negotiations, Bristol Motor Speedway offered a complimentary suite to potential Trevor Bayne sponsors to help ensure the local favorite and Knoxville, TN native was able to enter the race. The deal was finally completed when Rocky assisted in partnering Crawdad’s Classics with YourRaceCar.com as co-sponsors for the race. As part of the deal, YourRaceCar.com also secured primary sponsorship of the #60 Roush Fenway race team for the Night Race at Bristol in August.
YourRaceCar.com has acquired a “show car” version of the Roush Fenway, Trevor Bayne #60 Race Car which will be making appearances at several events between now and the August 2012 Race at Bristol. Events will be posted on their website and Facebook page.
YourRaceCar.com is offering individual race fans the unique opportunity to sponsor the car themselves for as little as $20.00. In exchange, the sponsor will submit a name and/or photo through www.signup.yourracecar.com which will appear on the actual car in the August race.
