April 23, 2012 - PRLog -- All Saints Church launched its campaign to 'Buy a Tile' on April 7th. Members of the Church (including a Saxon King and his Princess) were to be seen encouraging shoppers to Make History and Buy a Tile. The event was sponsored by Bentalls Department store. The scheme allows the public to buy a tile in the name of themselves or a loved one and put the name in to the floor of one of the most ancient and historic places in Kingston. Each handmade terracotta tile will cost £25 and the names will be recorded in an historic book placed on display in the church.

This launch is part of the wider development appeal for All Saints Church. This marks the place where the first King of England was crowned before they built Westminster Abbey. It is also where church and monarchy carved up how England was to be run between them - something that still affects our lives today and allows Bishops to sit in the House of Lords.
